The image in this post makes it seem like the interview is April 10th. Hopefully the title will persuade people otherwise.

Two hours well spent! When observing medical training I would recommend that John keep in mind that medical training is primarily about addressing illness. The health of populations for the most part a matter of lifestyle choices. (Some populations have an unfair burden - some Asians can't safely carry the fat of white Americans. A lower BMI should apply.) Fifty years ago training in medical practice was challenging. Learning to communicate with people of different background/cultures. Coming up with provisional diagnoses. Choosing the best diagnostic studies. Coming up with a pathologic explanation. Developing a treatment plan while avoiding doing harm. Fifty years ago one thing was clear. The role of physicians wasn't to sit in judgment on patients. No, their role was to fix or ameliorate the problems that brought the patient to you. This often involved after hours work in the medical library. We can only hope that the new DEI medical training hasn't deviated too far from what should always be expected in medical practice. I can only hope that the present curriculum hasn't interfered with the training of physicians. As I recall, learning the core curriculum of addressing illnesses took up pretty much all my time.
