Back in 2017, Lisa Selin Davis wrote a piece in the New York Times titled “My Daughter Is Not Transgender. She’s a Tomboy,” and was promptly dogpiled by trans-activists as the prior progressive feminist goal of expanding the boundaries of what it means to be man or woman gave way to a new ideological mandate holding that gender-nonconforming youth should be reclassified as “Trans Kids” and placed on a pathway to surgical and lifelong hormonal interventions. Her piece was published just at the moment when the new orthodoxy was being imposed, and something like the very last moment when a piece like hers or the resulting book deal could be made.
Since then, Davis has been reporting on the way a growing number of schools have been dealing with gender — including the widespread practice of enabling a child’s social transition by assigning them new names and pronouns and providing them with them a “transition closet” allowing them to change into cross-gendered clothes each day without parental notice or consent. It’s absolutely mind-bending that schools across the country have adopted this practice.
I’ll be talking with her today, Saturday, April 16, on these and other matters at 1pm EST/10 AM PDT here at the Callin App.
I'm asking every one to join me in objecting whenever the Q Word (ends with "R") is published/broadcast. It's fully as much verbal violence as the "N word" (also ends with "R"). It's the last word all too many gay men have heard before the baseball bat hits their head. I, for one, am sick of straight people slinging it around to show off how hip, slick, and cool they are.
